Drs. Bryant and Kelley Phillips

Drs. Bryant and Kelley Phillips

Drs. Bryant and Kelley Phillips are both graduates of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bryant grew up in Simpsonville, SC where he enjoyed showing horses and playing basketball. He has fond childhood memories of assisting his father, Dr. Ben Phillips, which led him to complete a B.S. in Biology at Furman University. Dr. Kelley grew up on a cattle farm in Disputanta, Virginia where she enjoyed riding horses and playing soccer. She began pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian with a B.S. in Animal and Dairy Science at Auburn. They both credit their parents for encouragement and support that culminated in their success as veterinarians. Together their mission is to daily share the love of Jesus Christ by serving people and helping their pets.

Drs. Will and Jennifer McDavid

Drs. Will and Jennifer McDavid

Drs. Will and Jennifer McDavid were both born and raised in Greenville but met each other and got married while working together at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital of Travelers Rest. Dr. Jennifer graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, while Dr. Will graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. That makes things a little interesting around the television in their house on Saturdays during the fall! Dr. Will got his DVM at Mississippi State University, and Dr. Jen got hers at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Before coming back home to Greenville, Dr. Jen spent two years practicing in a mixed animal practice in Switzerland, where she learned to speak Swiss German. Dr. Will loves to hunt and fish in his spare time (when he is not working in the yard). Dr. Jen enjoys tagging along on those trips as well as hiking, horseback riding, reading, and crocheting. They also enjoy spending time together with friends and family as often as possible. Their favorite part of working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital is the kind-spirited family atmosphere that is fostered between the staff, clients, and patients.

Dr. Lynn Bowden
Veterinarian

Dr. Lynn Bowden

Dr. Bowden grew up in North Carolina, where she graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors.  She practiced in the Charlotte area until her husband’s career led them to Greenville.  The Bowdens have called Greenville home for the last 15 years, where they have raised their two children, Clay and Liza, and have even become Clemson fans!  Dr. Bowden enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but her passion lies in the prevention and treatment of behavior problems in dogs and cats.  She is proud to have achieved Low Stress Handling Certification, and hopes to use these skills to create a positive and comfortable hospital experience for both you and your pet.  Dr. Bowden and her husband have two rescued dogs, Bonnie and Carl, and enjoy cooking, entertaining, and outdoor activities.

Dr. Jennifer Given

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jennifer Given to our Travelers Rest team!  Dr. Given received her B.S. in Biology at the College of Charleston, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia.  Along with her husband Sam and adorable fur babies, she resides in Travelers Rest and enjoys exploring the foothills of our beautiful community.

Stephanie Anderson, R.N.

Stephanie Anderson

Stephanie Anderson is a lifelong resident of Travelers Rest. She has been a veterinary technician for 17 years and has worked at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since 2004 as the primary large animal technician. After finishing her degree in Nursing in 2010, she decided to stay with Cleveland Park and serve both pets and their owners. In the spring of 2014 she accepted the position of Practice Manager for CPAHTR. She completed the Patterson University courses in practice management in January 2016 in pursuit of becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. She still helps out as both a small animal and equine technician when time allows. She lives in Travelers Rest with her husband, Tony, and son, Adam. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horse Finny,, rescuing/re-homing horses and traveling. Most importantly she enjoys spending time with her family, their 2 dogs, Shelby and Zoe and their cat Kitty Brat..

Shannon Bowen
Personnel Director, Receptionist

Shannon Bowen

Shannon Bowen was born and raised in Travelers Rest. She began working with animals more than 20 years ago at the Greenville Humane Society as an adoptions specialist. After leaving there she found work in animal hospitals around the Greenville area as well as working at an area blood banking center where she enjoyed the direct impact that her work had on lives in the community. She joined Cleveland Park in June 2017 and is so happy to be working in the same town that she lives and grew up in.  In November 2017, Shannon accepted the human resource position within the hospital, managing our wonderful staff in addition to her expectional receptionist duties.

Shannon is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree at Limestone University studying Business and Social Work. She and her husband, Brian enjoy spending time on the lake or in the woods with their dog, Miss Kitty. They also have 4 cats that are extremely spoiled.  

Sara Tate

Sara Tate

Sara Tate is a native of Florida. At 14, she got a job with a veterinary clinic working in the kennels and worked her way up to a veterinary technician. During her 24 years of experience she has worked in emergency care as well as general practice veterinary clinics. She moved to SC in 1998 with her husband and continued to work as a veterinary technician in the Greer area. She started at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in the summer of 2005. Her love for animal care, the community and it’s people keep her doing what she loves. She lives in the beautiful Blue Ridge area with her husband Matt and three sons. Currently, she has three dogs, three cats, goldfish and one koi. (subject to change!) She now specializes in Customer Care and is always happy to help with her gorgeous smile :)

Tristan Harvey

Tristan Harvey began working at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in the summer of 2008. She started her career at Cleveland Park as a kennel technician but when a position as a receptionist opened in 2011 she readily accepted it. She has been one of the smiling faces at the reception desk ever since. She loves her work as a receptionist because she is able to meet and help the owners of all our wonderful patients. She has lived Travelers Rest since 2000 with her husband, Travis. When Tristan is not checking patients in for their appointments, she enjoys taking her son Easton to the park. She also enjoys hiking, boating, going to classic car shows and spending time with family and friends.

Ashley Bostian

Ashley Bostian

Ashley Bostian and her husband are natives to the Travelers Rest South Carolina area. She says she couldn’t imagine a better place to live. Ashley was home schooled and graduated in 2010. She then attended Greenville Technical College where she obtained certification in Medical Coding and Billing. God soon led Ashley in another direction. She realized her passion was caring for animals. Ashley has been a part of Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since November of 2011. She is a valued member of our reception staff.  She enjoys making sure all clients and pets get the best of care while visiting Cleveland Park. In her free time, Ashley enjoys staying active by hiking Table Rock State Park or walking the Swamp Rabbit Trail with her 5 dogs  Colt, Bandit, Tyson, Ruby and Baron (Baron is a certified therapy dog for the public with  Alliance Of Therapy Dog's).  Ashley also enjoys spending time with her family  

Lauren Summerall

Lauren Summerall was born and raised in Travelers Rest, SC. She graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2015 and pursued a passion in animal studies. Lauren became a member of our team February 2017 and began work as a Kennel Technician, shortly after she then moved to Reception where she plans to stay until becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She is currently enrolled at Greenville Technical College in the Veterinary Technology program and looks forward to advancing in her career with animals of all shapes and sizes. She and her fiancé, Blake enjoy spending time with their 2 rescue dogs, Scout and Fifi and their 2 daughters, Arabella and Karline. Lauren loves having the opportunity to see and care for so many different breeds and species of animals and she looks forward to many years with us here at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital.

Samantha  Perea

Sam joined the Cleveland Park of Travelers Rest team in July 2016. Having always loved large animals she spent most of her time during her college career at the dairy farm and horse farm of Clemson University. She graduated Clemson University in May 2014 with a degree in Animal Agribusiness. She is a lifelong resident of the upstate so after finishing college she moved back to Greenville where she worked as a receptionist and kennel/veterinary technician at another hospital. She and her fiance, Ethan have a hound dog named Remington and 2 cats, Addie and Charlotte. They enjoy spending time with family and on the lake.

Carrie Adams

Carrie was born and raised in Berea SC.  She graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2006 and received her Veterinary Assistant certification from Greenville Tech in April 2007 which is also when she began working at Cleveland Park. In 2012 she went back to school and graduated from Greenville technnical College as a surgical assistant in 2014. After graduation she took a position with Patewood outpatient surgical center and also maintained a part time position here as a receptionist. She returned to Cleveland Park in October of 2015 and plans to stay here forever.

She lives in Travelers Rest with her husband Bobby and their daughter Mackenzie and son Griffin. They are active members at Renfrew Baptist church where they work with youth. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Heather Nix

Heather Golightly was raised in Travelers Rest, but moved to Greer 5 years ago. She graduated from Greenville Tech in 2005 with 2 degrees- one in Small Animal Care and the other in Veterinary Assisting. She has been a veterinary technician for 10 years, and started at Cleveland Park in March of 2013. She is a huge hound lover, and enjoys giving extra kisses to any four legged creature with long, floppy ears! She feels incredibly blessed that God has allowed her the opportunity to work in such a wonderful career field. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, including her 4 canine “children”- Tilly, Griffin, Ajax, and Pax. Heather is also big on pet nutrition, and has toured the Hill’s Pet Food facility in Topeka Kansas, so feel free to ask her about Science Diet and the research that goes into their pet food...and all the cute beagles that reside there!

Kayla Pope

Kayla Pope

Kayla Pope came to Cleveland Park Animal Hospital after finishing her externship here in 2009. She graduated from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with a Major in Veterinary Technology. She became a licensed technician shortly after her arrival and enjoys working on both large and small animals. Kayla married her husband Anthony in May of 2012 and they now live in Berea. Together they have 8 cats ( Alley, Penny, Bruce, Wonkie, Sunny, Franky, Nutmeg & Pita), and a gecko named Dude. Her joys in life are promoting animal rescue & adoption, researching pet nutrition, working on their Mustangs, going to car shows, and spending time with her family and friends (4-legged ones included!).

Marisa Lorenzoni

Marisa Lorenzoni

Marisa Lorenzoni was born in upstate New York, but moved to South Carolina when she was 8 years old. She was surprised by the variety of cultural differences, but she realized that she loved the south! As a child, she had a passion for animals and wanted to strive towards a career in which she could explore that passion. In 2012 she joined the Cleveland Park Animal Hospital family as a kennel technician. In 2014, her hard work and determination allowed her to graduate from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with a Major in Veterinary Technology. She passed her boards in 2015 and became a full time LVT for the practice. She enjoys finding forever homes for other animals as well. Away from work she enjoys hiking and spending time with her dog, Buzz and fiance, Cameron. Family is also a big part of her life!

Jason Barclay
Veterinary Technician, LVT

Jason Barclay

Jason Barclay had always known he would end up working with animals, but had no idea how long it would take him to get to that point. He spent nearly 20 years playing music professionally in Kentucky (where he grew up), Indiana, and Illinois. He then moved to Indianapolis and decided it was time for a change. At 40 years old, he figured he wasn’t getting any younger. The prospect of starting a new career path could have been less than intriguing, but this was something he had wanted to do for a long time. He graduated with an Associates degree in applied science in Veterinary Technology, and when he finished school he moved to Greenville with his dog Oliver to be closer to his family. He joined Cleveland Park in 2012 as a licensed veterinary technician. He still enjoys playing music as well as spending time with Oliver, his 4 legged roommate and hanging out with family.

Kendall Strawhorn

Kendall Strawhorn

Kendall was born and raised in the Greer area of the upstate. She attended Tri-County Technical college and earned her associates degree in Veterinary Technolgy in May of 2016. She first came to Cleveland Park Animal Hospital to complete her internship and we were happy to offer a position to stay as an LVT. Outside of work she has a horse named Rocky that she enjoys trail riding She also has a chocolate Lab named Bentley, a potbelly pig named Porky and a Chihuahua named Rooney that she enjoys spending time with. . 

Sarah Pressley

Sarah  Pressley

Sarah Pressley was born and raised in the upstate of South Carolina. She spent her childhood outdoors with a variety of farm animals including horses, goats, ducks, cows and chickens. As she got older, she began to develop an interest in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from Pickens High School in 2010, she attended Tri-County Technincal College's Veterinary Technology program. She graduated in 2014 from college with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. Her first job as a technician was in her hometown of Pickens where she worked 2 years in a small animal practice. While there she passed both State and National boards and is now a licensed veterinary technician as well as gaining essential experience in a veterinary hospital. Sarah joined Cleveland Park TR in March of 2016 where she hopes to further her knowledge and experience with both small and large animals. In her downtime, she spends a lot of time in the woods talking with God and enjoying his creations.  She loves fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping when she has the time. She and her husband of 4 years live off the beaten path in the Table Rock area with their 4 dogs, Pup, Ruger, Flower and Kimba.

Emily Raines

Emily Raines has worked for Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since 2007. She and her family moved here from Washington state and planted their roots here in South Carolina. She has worked as a veterinary technician for 16 years and obtained her Veterinary Technician license in 2010. Assisting in surgery of any kind is her favorite responsibility as a veterinary technician. When she is away from work she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, Jason and daughter, Prestin. She also enjoys competing in triathlons, marathons and riding her dirt bike. They have two dogs, Butters and Trucker, and one cat, Mr. Cupcake Meatball.

Heather Clemente

Heather Clemente grew up off the beaches of South Florida, but eventually moved to South Carolina with her family in search of a slightly cooler climate, and beautiful changing seasons. Heather is currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science and has continued to work full-time as a receptionist and/or a Veternary technician at Cleveland Park Animal Hospital since graduating Travelers Rest High School in 2011. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her two high-content wolfdogs, Koda and Manai. They serve as ambassador animals for a variety of educational programs, as well as models for film and photography purposes. Heather is licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture and uses her animals to help educate the public about wolves in the wild, and the important role they play in our ecosystem.

Lucas Eades

Lucas Eades joined the CPAHTR team in February of 2016.  Before joining our team, Lucas worked as a veterinary technician in Seneca for about a year.  Lucas is a student at Tri-County Tech in the Veterinary Technology program and will graduate in May of 2017.  Being  a lifelong resident of Pickens South Carolina, Lucas has gained much experience with caring for animals such as chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, rabbits, goats  and horses.  Lucas is a member of Gap Hill Church of God where he enjoys  serving the church as worship leader for the youth and college group as well as a singing in the choir.  Besides serving God in everyday life, Lucas loves spending time with family, friends and his pets.

Josh was raised in Travelers Rest SC. He graduated from homeschool in 2013. After homeschool he began North Greenville University where he is currently a junior majoring in Animal science. At North Greenville he has had opportunities such as  training horses, being a part of a research team on aquaponics, and the head teacher’s assistant in the animal science lab. Josh remembers the first time he saw Cleveland Park when he was in middle school. It was then that he decided he wanted to work there. He joined our team in May of 2015 and has loved every minute since. Outside of work and school he enjoys gardening, archery, learning and spending time with loved ones. Josh has had lots of pets throughout the years, but currently has a tank of fish and a cat named Kona which he fell in love with at Cleveland Park.

Thea Smith

Thea Smith is a lifelong resident of the Upstate and started her career in veterinary hospitals at a young age. She has served in veterinary hospitals for the past 23 years where she has worked in almost every position, including management. Thea joined the Cleveland Park team in March of 2015 as a receptionist. She has always had a love and respect for all animals but she is admittedly partial to hound dogs.  She has a slobbering Bloodhound named Walter as well as 2 other dogs, Spanky and Bob, and 1 cat Wyatt. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren and her 4 legged fur-babies.

Adam Anderson

Adam Anderson

Adam joined Cleveland Park in October 2016. He is a Travelers Rest native and graduated Travelers Rest High School in June of 2015. He has since completed the South Carolina Fire Academy and is a fireman with a local fire department in the Greenville area. Having grown up with his mom being a veterinary technician, he is no stranger to veterinary hospitals. During his time off from being a fireman he enjoys working here as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant. He also enjoys riding his dirtbike and hanging out with family and friends. He has a Staffordhire terrier mix named Zoe who keeps him company.

Amber grew up in the Travelers Rest area. She graduated from Blue Ridge High School in June 2012, then attended Greenville Technical College where she majored in Veterinary Assisting. She joined Cleveland Park Animal Hospital in October 2015 as a kennel technician where she excels in patient care and making our boarding animals feel at home. She has 2 dachsunds; Dora and Diego and a chocolate lab named Maggie.

David Balles

David Balles

David is a senior attending North Greenville University in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Biology with an Animal Science focus. He joined Cleveland Park as a kennel/veterinary assistant in August 2016. He was born in Hawaii and moved to South Carolina 10 years ago. He has built a life and family here that he truly loves and enjoys. His goal after graduation from NGU is to be accepted into veterinary school and earn his DVM. He also aspires to come back after a few years of veterinary practice to be a professor at North Greenville University. He would love to help students achieve the same dreams he is working toward. He is very passionate to be able to give back to the college that has given so much to him!

Courtney Stoudenmire

Courtney joined Cleveland Park in August of 2016 as a kennel technician. She has always loved caring for God's creatures and has volunteered in area shelters for several years. She completed training as a groomer but enjoys being more involved with the everyday care of animals which is why she fits so well into our kennel team. She lives in Berea with her husband and son. They are very active members of their church and she hopes to show her desire to serve all  of God's creations through her work at Cleveland Park. In the future she hopes to return to school and earn her associates degree in Veterinary Technology.

Kassie Quinn

Kassie Quinn joined the Cleveland Park Travelers Rest team in October 2016. She is an avid animal lover since early childhood. She is a lifelong resident of the Travelers Rest area. She graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 2016 and will be attending Greenville Technical College this Fall to pursue her degree in Veterinary Technology. She says that Cleveland Park welcomed her with warm hospitality and for that reason she plans to continue working here after finishing her degree. She has 5 dogs: Belle, Sadie, Tally, Kane and Duke and 2 cats: Ashes and Finn. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, pets and friends.

Savannah Falkenburg

Savannah Falkenburg has lived in Travelers Rest most of her life. She has worked at Cleveland Park since 2005 as a kennel technician. In 2006 she became the kennel manager where she made sure pets were happy and cared for. In 2014 she changed career paths and became our full time groomer. Knowing most of the pets that she grooms from her role in the kennel has given her a special love and consideration for grooming. She lives in Greenville with her husband, Paul and 2 sons, Chatham and Lawson. Rescuing/re-homing dogs and cats and educating people on adoption is her passion.  In her free time she enjoys swimming and spending time with her family. She has 3 dogs, a rabbit, 3 cats and a guinea pig.

Rachel Barnes

Rachel Barnes

Rachel Barnes is a Travelers Rest native. After graduating from Travelers Rest High School in 2011, she attended Greenville Technical College and The Palmetto School of Career Development where she earned certifications in Chairside Dental Assisting, Radiology, and Front Office Administration. Though she is proud of her accomplishments in the dental field, she knew she always had a genuine love for animals. She joined Cleveland Park in February of 2015 as a kennel assistant where she could fulfill her love of animals. In January of 2016 she began an apprenticeship to become a full time groomer. She joined our full time grooming staff in March 2016. She has found that taking care of animals truly makes her happy. In her free time, she likes to stay active. Some of her favorite hobbies include traveling, taking camping trips, spending quality time with family and friends, and going for runs on the swamp rabbit trail with her dog, Autumn Olivia.
